To mark the 25th anniversary of the saving of the Settle and Carlisle route from closure on the 11 April 1989. DRS operated a charter involving Class 37s no. 37409, 37425 and 37259 from Carlisle to Carlisle and return via Leeds and York to celebrate the anniversary. On the return trip from Carlisle, 37259 leads 37425 tnt 37409 on the 1Z38 14:32 Carlisle to Carlisle via Leeds and York at Ais Gill on the 11th April 2014.
After leaving South Wales at 1am and a 5 1/2 hour drive after a late change in the BBC forecast. I captured 37409 leading 37423 on the 2C32 0515 Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness at Nethertown on the 25th July 2015.

After attempting 2C32 and with a long gap before 2C40 returns from Carlisle, I gambled that 6K73 would run after seeing it activated on the system. Thankfully with 5 minutes to spare, 37610 leads 37612 + MODA 95770 EKUA (Eastleigh bound). FNAs nos. 550052 and 550034 (Valley bound) on the 6K73 Sellafield to Crewe at Seascale on the 25th July 2015.

After a half an hour drive back from Seascale. I parked at the rugby club at Lowca, Parton and walked to this popular location and photographed 37402 leading 37604 on the 2C40 0842 Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness on the 25th July 2015.
A gap of about 25 minutes between the two trains meant I could walk to Cunning Point, a bit further north from the previous shot at Lowca (with thanks to the friendly fellow railway enthusiasts for their help) where I captured 37423 sporting the new DRS livery leading 37409 on the 2C41 0845 Barrow-in-Furness to Carlisle on the 25th July 2015.

After calling in at Ravenglass to photograph the statesman, 15 minutes behind 57315 and 57316 were 37402 and 37604 working the 2C34 1433 Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness at Eskmeals on the 25th July 2015.
